Welcome to Straight Up Food, your source for reliable, no-nonsense nutrition education and coaching. Straight Up Food works with people of all ages, at any stage of health.
The statement that "Changing how we eat changes everything" is undeniable in today's world. Not only does changing how we eat improve our own health and overall quality of life, but it greatly affects the quality of our natural environment and the quality of life for animals destined as food for humans. By eating more closely to how nature intended us to, we show respect for ourselves and all living things.
As we become more conscious and informed about our food choices, and begin to make healthful changes to how we eat, an exciting ripple effect is set into motion that affects how we look, feel and function. Our bodies begin to respond immediately, often rewarding us with:
  • Increased energy and stamina
  • Loss of excess weight
  • Improved appearance
  • Enhanced digestion and elimination
  • Sounder sleep
How we eat not only affects the quantity of our lives (how long we'll live), but the quality of our lives. We all know people who have always eaten poorly and lived to a ripe old age. But their later years were likely filled with pain, discomfort and unhappiness. It doesn't have to be this way.
If you are ready to make some positive changes but aren't sure where to start, I am an enthusiastic and skilled nutrition coach and cooking instructor ready help you reach your health goals more easily and quickly.
In only a short time you will learn more about truly healthy eating than most people do in a lifetime. We will work together to make lasting changes that fit your individual lifestyle and tastes.
By fueling the body with foods it most desires for optimum performance, we take the most direct approach to feeling and looking great. Along this path you will learn many things, some of which may include:
  • Planning and preparing meals that are good for you and taste great
  • Grocery shopping the healthy way
  • Understanding food labels
  • Distinguishing food facts from food myths
  • Making lasting changes to firmly rooted habits
Change can be tough, but it can be even tougher when we go it alone. Through our working together, you will not only change how you eat and feel, but change your life—for the better, for the healthier, for the happier.
